Other Wedding Considerations
Top wedding questions with answers that you may not have thought of.
Budget: Just a thought....since most weddings average $30,000, perhaps you save this money and invest in your marriage, home, and pay down any debt. Thought we would mention this.
Guests: There are two guests’ considerations that may come up, asking the guests not to wear a certain color and no children at the wedding. They can both be done graciously in the invitation. Although it can be seen as rude and awkward, it is your wedding and you should celebrate it in your vision. In your invitation, add a separate note "as a special request to our honorable guests, we ask that red not be worn at the wedding day". For the reception, you can add on the RSVP, "Adult Only Reception". As long as you do not state, no children or no kids, then you should be fine. Remember, if you have adults only, then it would be fair not to have a flower girl.
Asking for cash as wedding gift: This is a common one as almost 50% of couple’s state that they have difficulty asking this question. Know this; almost 80% of guests prefer to give cash. The first way to let your guests know is to spread the word with your family and friends. The next is to have it state on your website or invitation in a poem like: "To our family and friends, we can not wait to share in our special day, if you want to look for a special gift, cash would be the best way". The other option is to register for items that you can return, register for gift cards or there are registry sites that help you finance your honeymoon.
Second weddings: Second weddings that have children allow for more sentimental ceremonies. You can incorporate your new family in the wedding party, readings, candle lighting or any part of the ceremony. Just be sure to communicate which part they would like to participate in.
Green weddings: Weddings can be very eco friendly and can start with the invitations. You can do all the inviting via email or using websites. Another option is a plantable seed card. For the wedding, organic clothing and food are choices that you have options.
Catholic: you may have the Papal blessing. Simply send your wedding invitation along with a donation to the Vatican. You can frame it forever.
Name change: if you plan to change your name, there are comprehensive kits that you can purchase that have all necessary forms that you need to fill with the addresses.
Need to relax before the wedding: try some yoga, hot yoga, Bikram. More on this, go to www.whatishotyoga.com for more information. You may also lose some weight and improve skin! Check out testimonials.
Rent your wedding dress (I know, but really will you wear it again?). What else can you purchase second hand or at a close out? Ebay, clearance racks, consider any place where you can purchase any of your items less than the cost of new.
